A HAPPY DAY

I had a lovely day today. I sat in my studio and did preparation work for my klosjes.I loved playing with lots of scraps that my friends gave me.  It was so hot outside, so I had a swim with my daughter. Then a friend phoned and said she is on her way to me, bringing one of her dearest friends to meet me. We had a great time having lunch and drinking Mojitos!!!! What a happy day it turned out to be!!! And I got help with my blog. What will the world be without friends to brighten a day!!!!!!!

bliss

Me and hubby went to our beachhouse for 4 days without the kids. Bliss. No pets.No moaning. Just the 2 of us. We slept late, walked along the beach, read, he played gholf while I sewed on a binding for a quilt. It was so peaceful.We also got our house ready as we are renting it out for the holidays. Now we are home again. I will collect my best friend ( My Bernina) as she went for her annual check-up. Hope you have a blissful day ♥

my sewing room

This is where I enjoy myself most days. The big cupboard I traded with an old lady that lives next to my mom. She had it in her garage for years. When my mom saw it, she knew I would love it. I gave her a quilt in exchange. I enjoyed every minute sorting all my stuff. There is a drawer for threads, ribbons,needles, scissors,tools,templates and many drawers for my stash, all sorted in colours.( Sorting is my thing :) )

The small cupboard is filled with my quilting books and magazines. I love to listen to music while sewing. And I have a lovely view of our garden. Hope you enjoyed visiting me,I'll go make a cup of tea. xx

Klosjes-craziness

I have made 221 klosjes and it is looking great. I think I will start to put them together. Do you think I must take out the bright green on the right??

my birthday

Thanks for all the wonderful words on my birthday on Saturday. I had a lovely day with friends and family.

Friend forever♥

This is one of my favourite quilts. My dear friend, Marieta , made it for me while visiting her son in America. She made everything by hand.
I value my friends a lot. But I try to be a 100% friend, therefore I expect  a 100% friend.

This is a quilt I made for my mother, with her showing it. I saw the pattern in a Homespun magazine and just have to make it. My mom loves anything pink, so my choice was easy.

I am addicted

Thanks to Ingrid from Supergoof I am now addicted to Klosjes. I love it.

I feel blessed

I am sitting at my desk, reading all my favourite blogs from all over the world. And I feel so blessed that I can be in contact with so much like-minded girls from all the corners of the world. We quilters really share so much. And we are so alike, even though we live thousands of miles apart.

I also feel blessed because I have the house for myself. Hubby and kids have gone to work and school. Just me and all the pets( Bobby, the maltese and Milo and Coco, the 2 small white cats.)

I also feel blessed because I can look outside and see my beautiful garden with roses. I love roses.

First day

Today I gave my first class at home. It went well, just hope the girls enjoyed it as much.

I am inspired

I can't wait to start on my new project for 2011. I am in love with Sue Spargo's new book "Contemporary Folk" I saw the quilt in St Marie aux Mines and couldn't walk away. I bought the book and have been paging and reading it. The photos and instructions are so clear and inspiring. And I love all the colours. I can go on and on........ But before 2011 I have to quilt 4 quilts. I'll have to stop reading  blogs and start. One quilt have been sandwiched today, thanks to my dear friend Marieta who helped me. I am now going to sit in front of "The Bachelor" and make a couple of Klosjes.

Today I will be making all the copies for my very first class. I will be teaching a stitchery class. I am very excited but also very ancious. I have been pondering about teaching for a very long time. The first class will be next Wednesday. My daughter, Rozanne, has drawn the picture. She is a final year student in Fashion Design and loves to draw. I will show the design later.
