I am taking a break from blogging as we are moving house in 2 weeks. So I will have to leave the lappies and quilting and klosjes and hexies, and do a lot of packing.  But i will always read all your blogs and will be back soon.

WHAT A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE

On Monday I took my mom to see her financial adviser. It was a challenge to me, driving so far and out of my normal way. But we had a great day. We also visited the most beautiful store "Block and chisel" It had the most beautiful furniture. We had a great lunch and then I took her home.

 While I sat at the gym watching my son practising swimming, I got a sms from my daughter saying she is watering our garden and spraying our roof as there is a fire about 100meters from our house. I nearly died. When i got home, there were firefighters and helicopters spraying water in the nearby( very nearby) nature reserve. It went on till the following day. We have a thatched roof on our house and hubby was away on business. I had the worst night!!!! Didn't sleep a wink. I was thinking what I was goiing to grab if our roof got on fire. To make things worse, the wind started blowing.

The next morning the poor hard working fire fighters were still here. And I was relieved to see the sun.

So last night i went to bed at 19h20!!!!!!! and slept peacefully till 7h00!!!!!!

Now I am goiing to make myself a pot of tea and take out my quilting.

Happy days.

We visited our beachhouse this weekend and it was so peaceful. I had time to read all my magazines and I made 20 new Klosjes.

This is a small wallhanging I made some time ago. I love all the colours and hearts.
We are having a HEATWAVE. It never cools off, not even at night. I am wishing for autumm to start ♥♥

HEXIES

My hexies is coming on slowly, but I am enjoying every moment. This is the reason why all my quilting is sooo behind, not mentioning the cooking and filing etc.

I can't put the book down and is carrying it with me everywhere.I did make one heart .

Now I am off to my sewinggroup where we will be exchanging hearts of any kind to celebrate Valentyns Day.This is what I made. A new craze!!!!

Love is in the air...

Hello to all my blogger friends. I am so glad to be back! I have not been anywhere but at home , but WITHOUT a COMPUTER! And it was not not nice. I missed visiting you all. Now I will have to catch up.

Hope your Valentine will spoil you with lots of love. Mine is hoping for a big surprize,but shame.... I am only taking him on a picnic to the beach this evening. Hope the weather keeps.

I will post my finished hexies on Wednesday and show you pics of what I have been up to.

ONE FLOWER WEDNESDAY

I am still busy with the one flower Wednesday. I am thinking of just doiing a runner for my diningroom table. I want your advice for the putting together and finishing off of such an article. Any advice ???

We are experiencing a heatwave here in Cape Town. I picked my son up at school, and it was 41 degrees C in my car. We are all sweating!!!

This is not the weather for quilting.

CRAZY WEEK

Where has the year gone????? Off running somewhere???? I can't believe that January is nearly over. The schools started and since then we have been coverring lots of books, signing a lot of forms ( shame for all the teachers that have to organise all the kids and sorting all the forms) My dear son is in Grade 7 this year, next year it will be Highschool.

I have started with a lovely project. I bought  HOME SWEET HOME by Barb Adams and Alma Allen. I saw the quilt in Supergoof's blog. I started with the first block today. There are 9 blocks. I love to do handwork and will be doiing the blocks by hand. I am using the freezer-paper method.

I also made 2 hexies.

Busy Day

I had a very busy day today. This morning our dog, Bobby, came into my bedroom and was gasping for air and he was very restless. I called my husband. We were very anxious. Our cat, Danny died of a snakebite a couple of months ago and we immediately thought this is what happened to Bobby. Hubby rushed him to the Vet. R916 later Bobby got home. He had a big piece of wood stuck in his mouth, between his teeth. Shame, they had to tranquilise him to work in his mouth. He is fine now, he has to drink pills for the pain. We had a big scare.

Then I went to the hairdresser and had a cut and highlites.

After having tea, I went to my sewingroom and started on Half square triangles. I will post my progress.

I also finished a small pencilcase that I started while om holiday. Isn't the material gorgeous??  I want to show you the magazine I ordered from my favourite internet shop "Fat quarter shop" in Australia. It is the new work of Leanne Beasley and a very specail piece.

This is my Xmas gift to myself. A bag of course!!!!!!
Tomorrow I have the commitee of our quild at my house and my dearest and only daughter burned all the muffins she had to bake. I must admit that there is something wrong with our oven. Hope someone brings something nice to eat.

Hello all my blogger-friends

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas. I had a very busy time, filled with lots of eating, drinking and celebrating. I had all my family for Christmasday and everything went well. We had too much to eat and my poor fridge was so full. It was a very hot day, so after chickenpie,lamb and salads, and TRIFLE ♥ we just wallowed in the pool.  Next year we are goiing to eat less LOL. It was so special to have all the family together.

It was also my sister's birtday on Christmasday. My dear daughter baked the delicious chocolate  cake.
